PELAT | Joan Català
Is silence, waiting, strength, tension, magic and spontaneous participation.
Sinopsi
Pelat aims to erase the boundaries between dance, circus, theatre and performance: between the audience and the show. A natural review of handcrafted techniques and personal memories. A unique and changing performance as a result of interaction with the audience. Pelat draws up a blueprint, looking back on handicrafts produced without technological means, a dialogue between a person and an object, where a simple gesture leaves a space for the imaginary, sharing experiences and responsibilities in an evanescent ritual.

Joan Català
Joan Català Carrasco was born in Barcelona in 1978. His restlessness and curiosity drew him to the fields of the plastic arts and movement where the body and / or objects are the communicators. He understands the performing arts as a space for dialogue between the human being, the object and the environment, where play and work blend with the tools, experiences and ideas that each person wishes to contribute. With a strong background in sport, he started studying the plastic arts in 1994 at La Llotja, School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades. From 1999 to 2005 he studied at different circus schools, such as Carampa in Madrid, Rogelio Rivel in Barcelona and the National Circus School in Moscow, specializing in acrobatics. He has also studied contemporary dance, gesture theatre and clown with different international teachers such as María Muñoz and Pep Ramis (Malpelo), Michel Dellaire, Iñaki Azpillaga, Àngels Margarit, Thomas Hauert and David Zambrano, among others. Since 2005 he has worked in different theatres and festivals around the world with the companies Daraomai, Circus Klezmer, Los 2Play or Cía Mudanzas-Àngels Margarit.
