Aquí, sempre. research residency of Poliana Lima
Dates: March 24 to April 2, 2018
SYNOPSIS:
Since she began creating Poliana Lima has been interested in seeing how the traces of personal History go sculpting and modeling the body. I am particularly curious about personal histories. I am intrigued to see how a person's identity is the result of all their lived experiences and how this complex process encompasses so many aspects: intellectual, emotional and physical. As a choreographer Lima is particularly interested in how a dancer's character and personality is expressed in their movement and gestures.
From this curiosity "Here, always" is born as a dance-documentary project about women of different generations. We will investigate the relationship between the passage of time and the perception of time through the body and its movement.
The concept of dance-documentary comes from a parallel with documentary film, where the poetry of the piece is constructed from an already given reality. We will work from the dancers, their movement and their personal stories as a fundamental methodology for the creation of the work.
