SYNOPSIS:

Christine Bonansea's proposal is based on a process of personal research. First, to continue a solo project called SPIKE, where she seeks to develop a movement vocabulary based on specific topics of personal memory. On the other hand, review and rework some of the choreography already created in the show that was presented last November at DOCK11 of the piece OH-2. It was a group piece that wants to reflect on the dramaturgy for the upcoming 2019 Premiere.

BIOGRAPHY:

Christine Bonansea is an American dancer and choreographer with 20 years of international experience in designing, directing / choreographing and performing works based on movement.

Create performances, installations and movies. She is the artistic director of the Christine Bonansea Company, founded in 2010. Defined by an expressive, virtuous movement and driven by improvisation, her work inhabits an experimental, interdisciplinary and collaborative environment in which other media: theater, video, visual art and design, spoken word and music play an important and integral role.

After studying modern literature at the Sorbonne in Paris, she cites writers and philosophers as major influences. Bonansea received a French national degree in contemporary dance and studied dance with luminaries such as Regine Chopinot, Catherine Diverres, Mathilde Monnier, Ralph Lemon, Anna Halprin, Nancy Stark Smith. She is also an excellent dance teacher in both the performing and professional therapeutic fields. She has collaborated and performed with international artists such as Nita Little, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Katie Duck, Sara Shelton Mann, Faustin Linyekula, Tino Sehgal, Yoshiko Chuma, Palissimo. In New York City, Bonansea’s work has been presented by Danspace Project, Dixon Place, Movement Research at Judson Church. Her dances have also been performed in art residencies and have been performed at numerous venues and festivals around the world, including the YBCA, ODC Theater, San Francisco International Arts Festival, The FRESH Festival (San Francisco); Headwater Theater (Portland); Atlantic Center for the Arts (Florida); Earthdance (MA), Artscape (Toronto); Whenever Wherever Festival (Tokyo); The Center Nationale De la Danse (Paris), AURA Dance FESTIVAL (Kaunas, Vilnius), BIDAM (Busan), Skopje Dance Festival (Northern Macedonia) and DOCK11 (Berlin).
